As part of our ongoing efforts to support the artists we collaborate with, we are leveraging art fairs as a strategic platform to introduce them to the art market. Our first participation was at Art Karlsruhe, followed by our appearance at the 2024 Positions Berlin Art Fair, held at Flughafen Tempelhof, Hangars 6-7.
In booth B14, we displayed the works of:
Andre Kane (b. 1977, Burkina Faso). Andre’s artistic exploration include working with vegetable fibres. Mastering the techniques of paper manipulation, his recent artistic endeavours showcase a fusion of pigment, earth, ochre, and recycled materials.
Ernest Cedi Kankam (b. 1995, Ghana). He is known for his exploration of the interplay between conscious and subconscious realm. Cedi’s characterised by his intuitive and fluid process, spans painting, drawing, and digital media, creating immersive fictional spaces that prompt contemplation and reflection on everyday experiences through a subconscious lens.
Kofi Obuobi (b. 1981, Ghana). Kofi is immersed in the symbolic beauty of African masks, which are spiritual and cultural symbols. His work aims to preserve this art form by blending tradition with modern technology, particularly through 3D printing, which helps recreate and sustain these masks despite environmental challenges.
Salamawit Mulugeta (b. 1996, Ethiopia). Salam creates figurative and semi-abstract works with a minimalist landscape. Using painting, drawing, and photography, her art revolves around femininity and the everyday experience within Ethiopian iconography. She explores the conscious and unconscious human state, with dreams serving as a bridge between day and night. Mulugeta’s work envisions a colonial-free, emancipatory landscape, influenced by her background in research, teaching, and social projects.
